My husbands father had hd.He was married 3 times & had 7 children. First marriage 3 children,1 postive(female),1 negative(female) & 1 not tested(male). JL, My husband is in the intermediate range but yes my husbands father inherited it fom his father but unsure of his cag repeat as he was misdiagnosed & was in a mental home. Hi there, My husband father had cag count of 31/44.Brother inlaw has tested positive with cag count 44. My husband was tested & his cag count was 30/31. Sister inlaw tested & cag count was 27/30 Other sister inlaw refuses to get tested but clearly has hd. 2 have not tested. I agree with Alice.We talked to my father in law alot.He knew what we were talking about you could see it in his eyes. I also believe his mind was still at work even though he couldnt talk. Hi Melissa, My father in law passed away a month ago.He would have his bad weeks where he would get worse but he would be like that for a long time. He had 2 strokes the week before he died,then was choking on water.Its a hard decision but his wife didnt want a feeding tube & he wouldnt of wanted that either.He is now in peace with no pain. Hi Twiggy, We dont have health insurance my hubby says what yours does,put the money aside but that never happens. I have thought about getting health insurance but its so expensive.I had my first daughter under a private obestetrician which cost alot of money,Im now having my second child under the same dr & medicare will now cover 75% of it.I dont see the point in it now. Just wanted to let everyone know that my father inlaw passed away on the 14th April after a 24 year battle with hd.Very sad but he can now rest in peace. One of his wishes was to help in the research of hd therefore he chose to donate what organs would be of help for the ongoing research. My father in law is in very late stages of hd.His wife was inquiring about donating his body for research into hd.They told her they use the brain,blood & stem cells.She couldnt believe what they told her.She needs his signature to donate his body.She has been power of attorney for the past 8 years.
