Great blog! I don't post much but I read almost everything that pertinent to me. I am 47, living at-risk, but i know have it. My anxieties are just like yours. I have a hard time focusing. I don't stress about HD, but almost every minute I am worrying about what people are thinking about me. I am going to try Lexapro. I spill almost a drink a day. Are you on anything for your movements?by cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center

My mom had HD. Her CAG was low, and she lived a fairly long life. I have 4 siblings. No one has been tested. I was about to get tested about 3 years ago, when a genetics counselor talked me out of it. I was 40 at the time. She said negative test and your life will change. She thought that I'd be too depressed.by cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Hi Mark I work in the reimbursement field. The laws are always changing, especially with regards to Medicare. My short term memory is terrible. I try to write everything down I can. I am 46 and living at risk.by cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I work for a health care company in the US. They would pay me 66% of my current salary when I go on long-term disability. Does Social Security pay anything? Are the benefits difficult to get?by cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center

My walking and running has gotten worse lately. I hadn't gone jogging in 2 years, I think. It was all I could do to stay on one side of the sidewalk. I was planning on getting tested later this year.by cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Your situation sounds similar to mine. I've read articles here that HD progression will be similar to your mom's. My mom just passed away at 73, too. That is a long time to live with HD. I think you should expect a similar life. My mom was living by herself up until she was 70. If I test positive, which I think I will, I'm not going to tell them until they are 16-18. I don't want an accidentaby cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Need some advice. I am 5 hours (and a mountain pass full of fresh snow) away from the nearest HDSA testing center in Seattle. I work in a fairly large hospital. There is a genetics professional in our company's e-mail directory. I e-mailed her. She said she can do the testing if I need it. All my family lives near me. Is it worth it to go to Seattle and the HDSA testing center? I am thinking tby cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center

My mom had HD. I have not been tested yet, but I think I have HD. Everytime I move oddly, I compare it to movements my mom did. Or facial expressions. Or if I think I'm being compulsive. It's amazing the things your mind does. I am going to get tested soon, too.by cougs4ever - Huntington's Disease Support Center
