This probably sounds like a stupid question, but if it is the nicotine that is helping people with HD, why not give them the patch?by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My husband is taking it, but it is suppose to be just a preventive thing for him. No side affects for him so far. It is an acne drug and has been around for years.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Has anyone even bothered to notice that Heather hasn't posted since the original post? Sorry Heather.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Is it possible to have one twin be positive and the other negative if they are identical? I know this is not the case for your children, Just Me, but I am still curious.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Brian, Did you read any other posts? Did you know that Marsha is actual doctor? I would take any information that she shares as free advice! All the best.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Stacy, I can't help, but be a bit jealous! Thanks for the encouragement. Now, I just have to convince my husband that it is the right thing for us to do! All the best and make sure to keep us all posted!by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I don't know about head trauma affecting onset, however, my husband is 33 with a count of 42 and has been showing signs for a couple of years now. I think that the stats may be right for some people, but not always. I always feel it depends on how sensitive you are to symptons. I hope that makes sense. All the best.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Can anyone explain to me how taking a trial drug could hurt a person with HD more than HD itself can? I don't understand why the drugs have to be tested for 5 years before they can be given to someone who is dying already.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Julie, I live in Canada and we have the same system as Australia. My husband did not have to pay to be tested, but the process seems to take longer than in the USA. He had his blood drawn the first part of March and didn't receive his results until May 31st. They said it is because they have to wait for a group of people to want to be tested because it is cheaper to send several at once. Theby Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Congrats Stacy! I'm glad to hear that IVF worked for you. Last time I heard from you, you were still waiting to hear! All the best! Wish I was in your shoes!by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I'll apoligize in advance for offending anyone that is blonde.... A girl with blond hair went to visit one of her friends the other day. She brought her 2 new dogs with her. Her friend says 'Oh, what pretty dogs. What's their names?' Her friend, says "Rolex and Timex".. To that response, her friend said "Whoever heard of dogs called Rolex and Timex?" A drunk gets up from the bar and heads for the bathroom. A few minutes later, a loud, blood curdling scream is heard from the bathroom. A few minutes after that, another loud scream reverberates through the bar. The bartender goes into the bathroom to investigate why the drunk is screaming. "What's all the screaming about in there? You're scaring the customers!" "I'm just sittingby Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center

He said....."It's a knick knack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone!" Don't groan too loud!by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Just thought of a groaner joke.... A frog walks into a bank. He says to the bank teller (named Patricia Whack) that he is Kermit Jagger and would like a loan for $20,000. Patricia told him that for that amount he would need some form of collateral. He held up a tiny, pink elephant statue and asked if it was okay to use at collateral. Patricia laughed. Kermit told Patricia that he knew theby Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I don't know. What do you call it?by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
You are both wonderful! I was just hoping that the "general public" could do something to help you. Just give us "good guys" the authorization to help you delete them and it won't take you so long. I know you can't do it, but just wanted you to know how much we appreciate you both (and anyone else involved) for all you time and energy!by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My husband is in the VERY early stages of HD. He does not visit his mother on a regular basis. He went about 3 weeks ago for the first time since Christmas. Previously it was well over a year since he had been to visit. One day when I asked him why he didn't want to visit her, he told me that it was because she wasn't his mom anymore and that he didn't want to see what is going to happen to hby Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Is there anyway that you can stop someone like this when they happen to be online the same time that you are? I came online. There were 40 some new messages. I looked at a couple....now there are over 70! I started reporting them, but now they seem to be out of control.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I'm with you StevieRay! I'd switch moms anyday (well, kind of). I love my mom, but it would certainly be an added bons if she'd do my housework for me!by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Sorry I-leak. We certainly aren't picking on your article. I think we are all just looking for some humor in life right now!by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I have to agree with everyone that stated their con is that they miss their spouse. No one else except people here can probably understand that feeling because the person is still with you in body.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Explain to me....maybe I'm living in the past, but isn't May 10th two days from now?by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
You sound like you are going through what my husband and I went through many years ago. We started dating when I was 16 years old. He told me shortly afterwards about HD. I was 16...what did I care? By the time I really realized what it was and how it would affect my life, I was madly in love with him. He kept telling me to find someone else who could give me the relationship/love I needed..by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I agree with Fred on the variations. My husband is 33 with a CAG of 41. He feels that he is showing signs and I agree. Maybe not major ones, but they are still signs. I am not sure though...maybe because we are expecting them, we see them??by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Rowan, you almost have it. Just take out the second character you typed. It should be : ) - D but as Steve said, leave out the spaces.by Sally - Huntington's Disease Support Center
