Happy birthday JL; I will post a day early, since you and I share the same date. (separated by ?13? years)by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hello Peter; good to hear from you again and thanks for the post. I knew your wife went from a relatively 'manageable' zone into a drastic decline. I had forgotten (or did not know) it was TBZ. Take care.by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Kaelee, I hope these few words will be of some comfort. Just talking about it will help in the area of memory deconstruction/reconstruction. I am 72 and a grandfather - greatgrandfather by marriage - and have experienced most of your 'problems'. My lineage is paternal; my father killed himself way before the HD 'name' was blamed. Five siblings died with HD-associated causes; my mother and the oldby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center

(Actually on the 7th) Male; Pretty Much Asymptomatic. Can't say the same for my two daughters. Bobby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Does it not hold true across all animal species that well-fed mothers produce 81% more males? I believe the magic which occurs in the mother's womb is not fully understood. So much HD-stuff yet to be researched. Bobby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I believe the original "predict hd study" was for people who were at risk but could not have been tested. When one entered the predict hd study, she/he was genetically tested but not told the results. At the conclusion of the four years she/he had the option of receiving the results. If this be true, the "predict HD" study has added new dimensions.by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My HD daughter has been diagnosed with neuropathy for which neurontin has been prescribed. Sometimes I think she may lose some of her toes and/or fingers. She has severe pain. Anyone have any similar experiences or information? Recommended dosage? Thanks.by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Is there a study of hd parents after divorce/separation who then have additional children with a non hd person to define the hd lineage? i.e., An hd father has more children with a non hd mother and vice versa.by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Ron, what does one say? Just know there are people here who care. Bobby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hello Wayne, I think there is much not yet understood about the HD procreation process; no way do I believe it's 50-50. Six youngest of my family in a row and both my daughters. It's almost as though the oldest have a lessor chance of being affected, but once the first HD is set, the remainder will be afffected. The oldest three of my siblings may not have had HD, but they have/had cancer. The oby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
HELP: Anyone have any luck getting dui probation terminated. My daughter is in mid to late stage of Hd.. She has a CAG count of 43 and is 44 years old. It is now apparent that Hd has been active for 10-20 years. She is a degreed Computer Scientist.. During her ten years of marriage, she was the sole wage earner; they had three children for whom she provided total care. She had minimum time ofby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Barb, please change my data in your sticky as follows: Thank you. Bob bob netx: I am 71; have a CAG repeat of 40; and, am pretty much asymptomatic. Have two daughters (CAG 40-age 43, and CAG 43-age 45. I have been on a heavy, continuous regimen of vitamins and choline inositol since 1983 (several grams of Vit C and up to 2K IU Vit E); have often supplemented those with HD-helpful 'things'.by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Marsha, thanks again for your varied efforts; what a benefit you are to us. Include me. Bobby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Shar, I surely would like for this subject to become a 'sticky'. On this forum we deal with reality - not just statistics. No doubt there are hd-predominant families. In mine there were six in a row: both my daughters have hd; the oldest has a CAG of 43, and the youngest has a CAG of 40. In my uncle's family the youngest eight had/have hd. In both families, the oldest three do/did not. I am theby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center

carla, I am assuming your husband has/had hd and not you. One wonders if your being a potential grandmother has brought any pressure to bear. Your son will obviously not reap the benefits of being a father. Is he capable of making this type of decision? What says your son's wife about the situation.by bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Michelle and bo!!!!!!!!Grrreeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaat news. I'll drink to that. Michelle, I am ,Tommie, Bob's wife. I don't read much of these communications because for one thing I am a registered nurse and we were trained to fix things or at least try to make them better. My huasband and tweo daughters have Huntingtons. Bob is still the cheerleader for everyone he is around. That is a God given giftby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
JL, hopefully, at some point it will be accepted that one's death is a personal decision, like genetic testing, and death should be easy. This is another case of the government deciding 'they' know what's best. My family history and yours are similar; my hd father shot himself. That was 37-years ago, and not much was known about hd (at least to the lay person). I don't know his CAG count; minby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Myrna, Rikki wil retain old memories and build new ones. hd people have good thought processes but are unable to express them with intelligible speech. It was astute to ascertain the reason for Rikki's emotional discomfort and turn it into a great coup. You have a wonderful relationhip. I think the hd person will retain the family-tie until death. You and she can talk of many things; I think sheby bob netx - Huntington's Disease Support Center
