Sunflower, Your message really spoke to my heart. I am 55 and tested severals years ago CAG of 42. I found out my mom had HD when I was 33 and my children were 4&8. I do think there is alot you can do to be proactive. Will has a great list of suplements he has posted about that I have been using for several years. Exercise is also very good for you. I am on Paxil for depressionby PK - Huntington's Disease Support Center

How much fish oil do you take, any other supplements?by PK - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Thanks going to add those to my list of supplements.by PK - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I agree there, the beginning is different for each person. Some have mental issues, some movement, some a combination and each seems to be different. I would start taking fish oil, which can help in all area of the body and especially HD.by PK - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Hi! I am HD positive (CAG 42) and I had the laser surgery over 10 years ago. I was also totally blind without glasses. I sometimes need glasses to read, but am not dependent on glasses to get around the house if something should happen to them. I had no ill effects from the surgery. Hey Drew, I'm sure your girlfriend is VERY afraid right now. I experienced similar reactions to finding out about HD when my mother was diagnosed 15 years ago. I am now turning 55 (CAG 42) and recently had a check-up at my neuro-passed with flying colors. PLEASE encourage her to take some time to adjust to this, then talk to someone who understands.
