Hello..Question. What anti depressants have proven to be effective in HD patients? My father has been crying alot these past few weeks as I KNOW he is feeling all sorts of bad. He hasn't been on any before and right now he is on pureed diet, thickit liquids. I can only imagine how he is feeling. It breaks my heart. Soooo...any advice? What has worked for any of you or your loved ones?? The hospice nurse will be calling me in a few hours to discuss this with me.

My husband was on zoloft, and that worked pretty well. The changed him to celexa, which did not work as well, and he is now back on zoloft. He is also on several other mood stabilizers, but they are more for outbursts and aggression, not just depression.

I've been on paxil for a few years and helps me alot. I am more tired when I take it, but it's worth feeling better.
