I'll complicate the reply by agreeing with Lisa and saying yes to your question! the wife doesnot immediately respond to normal pain, BUT, there are things that cause her pain that I can not fathom. for example the kitchen lamp on "cooks her brain", the back door not open makes her "hot" and the towel used as a bib "chokes" her. I do recall her (and her sisterby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Gosh!!! tell me about it. Just got the wife in bed (midnight), BUT she will be up watching TV for another couple hours. with her movements I am constantly putting the covers back on the bed and checking on her till she goes to sleep.by JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I have only taken the wife to Duke once back in 2008, the visit didn't help. I thought at that time Duke needed some one other than a movement disorder to see HD patients. we took her sister there many years prior and at least that neuro was better, however his advice was not to come back. I just have been wondering what HD Reach does and if any thing that would be of benifit for usby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I have only tried calling NCHD Reach a few times, and just left message. I do get email once a month and a call from an operator reminding me of meetings. I think I would like to have communications with Dr Edmondson as her credentials seem impressiveby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I hate sounding so perstemistic, but in what way are they helping? I am about an hour SE of Raleigh and do not have the luxury of time to attend thier monthly meetings ( I have not had the time to visit MY cardioligist in two years!) I have emailed the recent Director about having a dynamic internet presence in addtion to just a static website with an accumlation of links. from the reply itby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Is there any members here that attend the NC HD Reach support group or had any contact with the orginazation?by JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I had to google "delirium" to be sure I knew what it meant. from the first hit of Wikipedia, i didn't see any thing under definition or symptom that I have not seem in my Wife with the majority before the onset of involentary movements and loss of motor skills Is there a particulair symptomby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I wouldn't know where to begin either. a quick google and I found this document that may help...I just don't have the time to read through to determine what type of information is providedby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Interesting you mentioned Seriquiel. My wife started it several months back I do believe there was an improvement in her staying a sleep once she went to sleep. current problem is getting her to go to sleep (too involved with late night TV shows)by JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Kristine, my wife stopped driving around 45. (she is now 60) It is hard now to recall all the symptoms she went through. I am sorry to reply there were several years in that period I didnot think I was going to make it through. But then there was just as sudden change. the angry, parinold, obsesive attitude went away and she is now happy and enjoys her time watching TV and now telling meby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
welcome, but I'll also say so sorry that you needed to look for such a forum. I am taking care of my wife and prior to that her sister (and brother). there are some very special members here that have helped me thorough some tough times and also a place to share and enjoy the good timesby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Lynda, so sorry to her what you are going through. I am going to give two replies that are 180 degrees apart. please use the message in both and do not take it as an attack. If I had not care for my SIL and done all my research (before the internet), I would have left my Wife when she started having the mild symptoms. With the SIL and BIL I learned all the buttons to push to cause an outburby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Liz, I am sort of a mirror image of your ordel. As the caregiver for my wife, I have been forced from worked for two years now (and reduced work years prior to that). I feel the same as you, I keep hearing the lines for the song "ole man river"--"I am tired of living, but 'fraid of dying." as for being depressed, I have found that it is worse to actually feel good. Liz, I see you are wondering about not getting any replies. I must apologize for my self as I have not been reading for awhile. I only had time today to go back just a few post to read about your journey. When I have time I plan to start at the benginning . I won't to read the entire story and since it appears you have been using this one thread that should make it easier. So if you don't miby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My wife use to get into a mod where she goes on non stop about how bad her father's family treated her mother following her fathers death. You can feel the pure hate as she mentions her aunts and uncles. this was all 40 years ago when she was 10! for some reason I have forgotten most of the details of how she was about 10 years ago where she would scream for hours that I was trying to poisonby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center
3 paths that I know of. first, all 3 start with medication. the drug classees of AED, APD,BZD, SNRI, SSRI. however there is no one combineation nor dosage that works for one and even once a working mix is found, it will need changes over time. for example, the wife went through nearly all classes at various dosage and nothing made an improvement. the noticable negative effects were almostby JFB - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Glad you posted, I occasionally wonder what has transpired since the airing last year. can't say that I agree 100% with the Harvard lawyer that replied to following emails. For some reason it won't play for me (think I may need to use the gaming compter), but if it just a repeat of the 2013 airing.
