Dusty, You can use your full size keyboard and mouse with a laptop. There are ports to plug them in on the back or side, depending on your model. Good to hear from the toughest lady in HD land. Willby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Part of the PREDICT-HD study involves identifying smells from a scratch and sniff book. I believe they're looking at that as a possible marker of disease progression. Willby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Fred, I had two separate visits before the blood test. The first was with a genetic counselor and neurologist. The second was with a psychiatrist. It took about 3 weeks after the blood draw. I tested under my real name and claimed the expense on my health insurance without any problems. The total cost was about $1,000. Willby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Thanks, Zach. They do have massage tents after marathons, usually staffed with students. I've never had one - I'm always impatient to struggle back to our hotel room for a traditional post race beer (or several). db, you would absolutely roar if you could see us trying to deal with snow. Barb, It was raining pretty hard and the temp was around 50. That's not a problem. Rain, wind and 38 is a problem that requires more clothing. I've found the best of breed stuff for all conditions through trial and error (and expense). A runners' saying about weather is that there's no such thing as bad weather - just inappropriate clothing. I've got a pair of trail shoes that are good on sby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center

This isn't directly related to HD, but it probably has a lot to do with why I'm symptom free at age 60 (CAG 40). The Pentagon Channel did a story about me after I finished my 31st consecutive Marine Corps Marathon on October 29th. You have to use Internet Explorer to see it. Kay - I've been taking 10 grams daily for 4 years. Creatine has few side effects at 5 to 10 gram dosage levels. I selected supplements based on research, although several fall into the "can't hurt, might help" category. I'm positive, CAG 40, with no symptoms at age 60. Here's my story and complete supplement list Willby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Michelle, I take 10 grams daily (two rounded teaspoons). There was a study done with 5 grams that had no effect. A 10 gram study stopped progression, if I recall. There is a higher dose study going on now that is reversing symptoms. You need to be sure that it's pure creatine monohydrate. There are other creatine supplements. Steve, TwinLab Micronized. Not sure what you mean by bioavailability. I chose this one by TwinLab's reputation as a quality brand. Micronized creatine is more expensive, but it dissolves much better. Willby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Carrie, WAY TO GO!! That puts you in the 95th percentile of the world's population. You probably found that improvement isn't linear. It tends to come in great leaps forward. For years I never ran more than 3 miles. When I tried to increase to 5, it didn't seem to be working. Then all of a sudden one day I felt like I had wings on my feet and ran 6! I would guess that if RNAi stops cell death, then any neurogenesis (new cell growth) going on would improve symptoms. The effect of that could be magnified by exercise and supplements or drugs that are known to induce cell growth. WBby Will - Huntington's Disease Support Center
