Sorry, I do not have a response for the original poster and her son. However, I am in the same situation as your husband. mid 60's and having mild symptoms. I have been seeing specialists but at this point all they do is monitor my decline I guess until it gets to a more severe level. I pray for all with this dreaded disease. May the good Lord bless your Mom and your family. Your mother is very lucky to have such caring family members and husband. So difficult.by RichS - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I too have a son and daughter-in-law that will be facing this issue soon. If any of you are up to sharing your experience with insurance and personal costs, I believe it would be of great help to many on this board. Welcome to the club to which no one wants to belong. I too have a CAG score of 39. I was tested about 7 years ago when we found out my Mother tested positive for it. She also had 39, so I cannot address the decrease question. Hi Will, I am rather new here but have enjoyed reading your blog and posts. I pray that I follow in your healthy footsteps. I am 60 with a CAG of 39. Mostly asymptomatic, I believe. I think it took a couple or more weeks to get the DNA results. They do not give you the results over the phone. In my case not what I wanted to hear. Mindy, I am probably around your Dads age. I am 60. I have a 29 year old and a 27 year old son. I got diagnosed 7 years ago. I am positive. My Mother was diagnosed by symptoms. She was not going to be tested since there was nothing they could do for her. I got angry because of having children who did not have any children of their own yet. I insisted that she get tested so I knew. She did and thuby RichS - Huntington's Disease Support Center
