Please view the short fundraising film above.
What the film omits to say (because we didnt wish to make it public at the time is that Merav Wheelhouse,co founder of this exemplary environmental project suffers from H.D.

Alongside losing her mother to terrorist bomb activity in Israel some years ago Merav suffers from acute depression and numerous other H.D. symptoms.
One of the best possible choices for H.D.therapy is a natural living environment for the sufferer.
Merav is an excellent gardener and specialisise in food growing and Forest gardening.
Many people/students/visitors & volunteers become excited and inspired by this womans amazing examples of applied forest gardening/permaculture techniques. She makes many people happy through her inspirational active play in the garden.

Merav has pioneered for 5 years and fought the authorities for her right to live on her own land and after many years of Local and high court appearances in London she and her family won the right to remain living on their land in order to build a home, manage their land and continue to develop the Karuna Permacuture education project. See www.karuna.org.uk
Perhaps it was a mistake not to mention all this in the fundraising film, the hardships of our family living in a damp 1960's showmans caravan for so many years, and alongside that living with all the problems of Huntingtons disease but as you all know it is not a topic we like to publicise and shout about! Because other people dont understand H.D. with all its daily challenges/set backs. We thought it may detract from the other important positive issues such as affordable housing and truely sustainable living.
But of course the reality is.We need to provide a warm home and office (small as it is) for Merav and her children so that she can continue her links with nature which slows down the degeneration process.
The Karuna tribe needs your support! Please back the project and share this link with your families, friends and contacts....
Thank you,stay positive!
and a happy new year to you All.
Janta (Husband,Carer and Karuna Project manager).

Welcome back Barb. No, it's not spam. Spammers don't usually carry on email exchanges with me. From my rough research it has been an ongoing project for awhile. It IS about building a home for themselves but with an interesting and apparently sincere sustainability twist. Of course I can't confirm the truthfulness of the story but I actually did see some indications in the video that HD may actually be involved. It's a different lifestyle and although I wouldn't wear a red mohawk myself (even if I had sufficient hair for a mohawk) I don't see any indications that the story is anything less than truthful.

Here is a supportive story about their project from 2008 from the Guardian which I doubt would support anything other than an honest project.

Hello Steve!

What are those indications in the video that you are considering involvement sings of HD?

Thanks,

Thanks Steve smiling smiley I believe they are truthful too, it's their motive for asking for money that bothers me, that's all smiling smiley

Hello Katinka,
Glad you liked the video,we worked hard to acheive it,its lacks some stuff, could have been better, still it has served the purpose to a point.
Sure you are welcome to share it on face book.
We can all enjoy Meravs paintings..but she has now lost her ability to paint. She is however creative in the garden and even continues to inspire visitors to the project.
All best wishes,
Janta.
