Thanks, guys - but actually, you're ahead of time. It's this COMING Monday (9/7) - not the last one...

I'll actually be celebrating this one with a measure of sorrow - since it's the first one I'll be celebrating without my mother. Since our birthdays were only a day apart (9/7 & 9/8) - we always went out to dinner to celebrate. Or on the last couple of BDs, I brought her flowers and balloons at the nursing home.

Since my birthday is on Labor Day, this year (which is always travel/vacation madness - being the last weekend that school's out) - I decided to postpone my own vacation 'til the weekend of the 12th. I've rented a room at the coast with a private spa, overlooking the Pacific.

I'll hoist one in honor of Mom, since she always loved the coast (indeed, she grew up there!).

Well we get a week long long celebration... that's cool.. I would make an age joke but I suppose at your age you have heard them all by now.. Happy Birthday week JL.

OOPPS!!! That was my fault- I read in one of the other posts that your birthday was Monday that you will be 61 and didn't look at the date you posted, I guess.

Well, we'll celebrate here early so you can get ready for your spa vacation...I'm sure your mom will be there with you in spirit. Enjoy and just relax- sounds wonderful.
