The HD psychologist called me today to tell me that my test results are in. It has been exactly 4 weeks. She said that the neurologist would be out the next 2 weeks, but that they had discussed my case and agreed on a game plan. She asked if I could come in Friday afternoon to discuss my results.

So Friday (tomorrow) at 2PM, I get my results. No more of this torture waiting. I am either positive or negative, but I am no longer at risk. I've lived knowing that I was at risk for over 30 years.

I had been told to prepare for a positive gene result (I'm symptomatic). The fact that there is a "game plan" is a big hint, eh? I mean why would I need a game plan for a negative gene test result? Or I guess I could be one of those symptomatic folks in the 36-39 CAG range, maybe that would require a game plan.........?

Whew! I'm so glad that they were able to speed up the schedule!

I know how anxious you have been.

I'm glad that tomorrow will bring an end to your anxiety.

if you dont have it, hurray. if you do have it, you will deal the hand that has been given you, right? it is, what it is, as they say...

if you have it, you must allow time for grieving, you will recover from the news, you will live strong and live positive. we are here for you, and you for us... hoping you all the stregth and hope, in the world!

I'm glad the wait is over. For some reason, the period between the results coming in and the appointment to get them is usually the hardest time.

We'll all be with you in spirit when you go in. Remember that you have friends here who understand and will help you fight back if the result is positive.
