Merry Christmas to Dear Gordon and Kirsty - and everyone here.

I've been working on projects related to my new home. An "assembly required" kitchen cart that turned out to require much more assembly than anticipated. But I finished it this morning - and it's extremely cool and will be very handy. It will extend my kitchen counter space - which is important for someone who loves to cook so much. I kind of had to get it assembled ASAP, so that I could have a space for some stuff I need to move.

Downsizing from a 4 BR house with a garage - to a 2 BR apartment - takes a great deal of planning. That said - I consider it a positive move. Less house to maintain - but even more posibilities of walking and even boating, due to the adjoining nature park and river.

I dug out some party clothes, and took most of a day off, Wednesday, in order to meet some of my new neighbors. A Christmas party was held in the common meeting room. Huge fireplace all alit with a comfy fire. Furniture arranged in friendly groups. Buffet tables laden with goodies. Kitchen. Bar.

I met a number of lovely people. A delightful family from the Philipines. A really nice guy with the soft accent of his native Tennessee (much like Marsha P!). Other more local folk.

Including people who share my interests in cooking and fishing. I really look forward to getting to know them better!

I don't know how I would have coped without you here....Thank you all very much.
