Proud Of Husband's Achievements

I just have to let everyone know that my husband who has had HD since 1997 and now works in a work assisted environment (used to be sheltered workshop) was last night awarded Employee Of The Year, sponsored by Rotary. His story of life before and after HD and the loss of a child and dealing with another child with JHD inspired this award, of course I had to start blubbering when the children were mentioned sad smiley and one of his workmates came and sat with her arm around me. There were many oohs as his story was told and he received a beautiful engraved silver platter. Good job

So it shows that even finding out you have HD doesn't always have to be the end of the world. A positive attitude and refusal to give in to this disease can be productive. I am very proud of him of course, his boss said he was certainly deserving of it. Go for it

So now Rotary here are aware of HD among many others.

Very good Debbie! HD sure has it's downsides but there are lots of instances where things are are manageable, and in this case far beyond manageable to the point of achievement. He should have been recognized. And you should be too because you are part of his team. Congrats to you both!

your husband deserves this recognition, and it is affirmation, that his life has much worth... and he contributes to society.
