Lunar Eclipse

I know this is way, WAY off-subject! But did anyone else observe the lunar Eclipse, earlier this week?

It happened about 4 am, Tuesday morning, here - and there were clear skies - so it was totally visible. A total eclipse, from here.

Utterly cool!

I know this one!:

Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there's only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A lunar eclipse of the heart

I saw it also. I was out running around 5:00 AM Eastern US Time. I had forgotten what day the eclipse was. I looked up at the moon and said to myself, "Look at that. Must be some clouds came out of nowhere covering half the moon." Then it dawned on me. A classic "Duh" moment.

I was having trouble sleeping, so I turned on the news channel. It said that on the West Coast, it was going "total".

Since it was clear out, I decided to see if I could view it. There it was. Various transitions from being lit on the right to being lit on the left - to being lit on the bottom. Then, it went totally dark.

You could still see the moon, and see the round shape of it, and all - but no reflection from the sun. First full eclipse I've seen. I was thrilled to observe it!
