I just have to say, while my family situation wasn't quite the same, the similarities kind of brought it all back. No one would help us when we tried to get help for my sister. They passed her between mental health services to social services like a hot potato, until it was determined medically that HD is NOT a mental illness, but a physical one. Yes it is. It starts at the Guthrie Center, and ends at "Alice's Restaurant" in Stockbridge. Just beautiful country side along this walk... lovely homes, just a beautiful walk. I have done it every year. After the walk, we (my niece and I) bring our t-shirts to our family at Laurel Lakes nursing home, in Lee. Hey, I know how we can all get rid of this emotion and turn it into something positive! Spread the word!! The HD Walk, or the more well known name for it, "Arlo Guthrie's Historic Garbage Trail" Walk to Massacree HD is just next month, May 20th!!! Hello Margie, I just read through these posts, and I was brought back to experiences with my sister. She too was paranoid, and called the police numerous times, thought we were all out to get her. I am the youngest sister, and the most outspoken, so I pretty much did most of the calling around for help. I would like to mention also, that on Jean Miller's website, from the home page of the HDAC, there is a map link, where people can put a push pin in it to show where they are!
