Hi Brad, My son is 6'5" found out last December he is HD positive(cag 45) he is 38. He was a star basketball player in college and quite the ladies man......I wish he had stayed with a few gf's who really loved him. Now he's living with me and very symptomatic behavior wise. His sister also was dx'd this year with same cag count and she is married with 4 beautiful children, all at riskby Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
You can PM me.....I have lots of experience with HD as my exhusband had it and we didn't know, but I knew something was wrong...........and HE was a doctor!!by Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
No, haven't tried baclofen, but will ask her neuro at the COE. Thanks very much!by Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi Concernedpartner, Thanks for the CAT scan advice. Is that referred by an MD or Dentist?by Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi everyone, My daughter has HD and is suffering from bilateral jaw pain ..... she has tried botox and neurontin, but is still suffering. Does anyone else have this and if so, what meds have helped. Thanks so much!!by Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
OMG thorflower,,,,you are so funny! It's true that some phd's cling............it's all part of this disease. My son who lives with me says he always wants me to go out, yet when I do, he acts like he doesn't want to be alone and for me not to leave............what?..............very confusing. It you spend quality time with him certain times of everyday, it's possible he may leave you aloneby Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Oh thanks Indigo for your response. My son was in 100% compliance with his meds for 3 months, and actually was acting completely normal..........it was soooo nice. His drs are very aware of his problems too......I know it's not his fault he has HD, and I am very compassionate about that with him...........the dr's told me that people with HD cannot assimilate alcohol the same as most can. Hi Indigo and Vicky................No, not all three, my oldest is my son(38) and then a middle daughter, (36) also phd, but 3rd is my youngest daughter at 34. She hasn't been tested but I don't see ANY possible symptoms so far....cross fingers. He was doing quite well on his meds, haldol, zoloft, and clonazepam...........has quite a bit of OCD (hand washing). He is a gentle sweetheart wheby Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi Vicky, Thank you so much for your concerns and prayers. My other is a daughter with 4 beautiful children who are at risk, obviously.......this whole positive dx has changed all our lives in such a major way........I have discussed all his issues with his psych dr. as well as the neuro and they concur that as long as he drinks, the meds won't help and he probably won't take them while drinkinby Janigirl - Huntington's Disease Support Center
