It's so difficult because the pre-clinical symptoms are so vague, a fair amount of the population has anxiety, depression and irritability and lots of people are on meds to treat these symptoms.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Sara, I'm sorry about your results, my dad also has a CAG of 43 and he's 53 and is doing pretty well....early-mid stages I would guess. I see alot of strength in you and am so proud of your courage.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Judy, that was my question as well, why does the doctor not want him on it? What's his reasoning?by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
okay, I realize this is a probably a really dumb question, but don't know or I wouldn't be asking......I know the FDA regulated meds here in the USA, but what about in Europe? Is it the same everywhere? And if it's approved in Europe, then couldn't patients in US get these from Europe while we are awaiting approval? Just wondering, If this is something I should really know, don't laugh.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
YES!!!!!! WOO-HOO, gonna go do a little jig!!!! Hoping Tony gets this soon and it helps him out!!!!! Thanks Maggie for all your hard work and for inspiring us!!by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Welcome, I am also at risk, like you, except I'm WAY older, 34! About 1 year ago, I was having twitching (ALOT). like small, muscle twitches. I was stressed, thinking it must be HD, but people told me here that twitches aren't usually a symptom, it's more like movements. That calmed me some and the twitches pretty much went away. I do still have them however at times, and my lower eye lid staby rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Sorry to hear about the test resultsby rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
oh, and I would also like to say that JL has given me good advice before as well, about insurance and guilt and such......I have also received good advice from others as well. I think we all have different opinions and that's okay. Again sometimes we have to just agree to disagree, I have to do that quite frequently regarding politics, but don't get me started there, that's another site.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
oh no, don't really know what's going on, only read the last few posts, sorry Barb your stressed, I think you do a GREAT job of explaining and helping people, people like myself, you too Eric, and noone is perfect with anger HD or not, so don't be hard on yourself about it. You said above somethimes you were mean and uncaring, heck we all act like that sometimes, again with HD or without it, butby rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Does the rage symptoms come before the physical symptoms, or vise versa, or is it just different for everyone? I've read somewhere that changes in mood usually precede physical, but wanted to get everyone elses experiences. Haven't really exprerienced rage yet with my father, but he has the physical symptoms.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
When are the results of creatinine going to be available. I believe it's a 5 year study, but not sure how long it has been in progress. Does anyone know?by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Thanks Marsha, but isn't it correct that with father to child transmission it doesn't contract, but expands or stays the same?by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
That was my understanding to Barb, wish it was wrong though....just because my dad would be passing it to me and I understood that usually with father to child transmission that the repeats usually expanded. : (by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Linda, So very happy with your negative results!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Thanks for your post, I'm at risk so your insight really helped me.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I think it's great you will be caring for your dad, maybe set boundaries now in writing, and be willing to re-evaluate if you are crossing them, (spending time with other family members, ie, kids, husband, time to yourself). It will most definitely be a full-time job I'm sure, but I applaud you. You are a blessing to your family. I used to work 12 hour nurse shifts, but then became a stay-at-hby rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Looks great! So uplifting, I think first timers will feel the positive energy that it portrays and not be fearful and like the site mentioned want to go into denial.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
jayb, could you please tell me where you found this graph, I would be interested in looking at it. thanks.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Good to see you on here dcb, I always enjoyed chatting with you in the chat room. Very well said, Forgiveness was key with me as well, and also, I like what you said about laundry can wait, but time with your kids can't, I have been trying to put that in action as well, but it's hard, because sometimes I feel like I have so much house work to do, but I know I need to let it go......after all itby rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
understanding what you are saying Eric, Guess it really depends where your at in the HD spectrum. Like you mentioned, if you are in the late stages, of course depending on each person, that could be the worse. someone with cancer or another terminal illness may feel the same way. My dad isn't late stage yet, and I'm just at-risk, so for me, yes, there are worse things, but when my dad is late-by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Thanks, Judy for the reminder, HD is Awful, but like you, I believe there are worse things.....at least we can be hopeful for effective treatments.by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Okay, so on the medical questionaire, did everyone put they had a history of HD, or is it worded different on the question sheet, like any history of neurological diseases, I know I need to answer honestly, but it just seems like I will get docked and if I do, do I just apply from a different company?by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Morning all, Okay, I have a question, Sometimes when I talk to my dad on the phone, he repeats himself or "over talks" me, but then sometimes like today he seems perfectly normal. Is this normal? I've read somewhere that they can have normal days. Also, I notice he rambles more if he's say talking on his cell phone and walking or shopping at the same time, but then again everyoneby rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Funny sister, my little boy does the same thing, wiggles his teeth, trying to make them loose, but $5.00, goodness me......my son's tooth fairy brings him $1! : )by rj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
