hi fleur!! just read over your post and it stuck a cord with myself.i have only been diagnosed 11 months,i received my results 2 weeks before xmas!! not good timing!!! i have a 13 yr old who is aware of hd is part of my life,and a 6 & 7 year old whom we have decided to keep unaware of hd due to their ages.the testing process is long here in the uk,took me best part of a year with all counseby tracey - Huntington's Disease Support Center
i know what you mean,i am the one with hd and my husband doesnt like to talk about it i have to bring up the issues first,my hubby thinks hes going to upset me and make me thinks about it on the off chance that i m not thinking about it at the time he brings it up if that makes sense!! i was diagnosed 11 months ago and i had to go through denial,insomnia and a bit of depression first,and only nowby tracey - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Hi i am Tracey,32 years of age married mother of 3 children living in the UK. I tested positive 11 months ago.My father had hd and died from it at the age of 56.i am the only person in my family to have the disease,that we can trace back. hi,sorry for your loss.. i personally would have your husbands blood tested first,you may be worrying over nothing,and hopefully you are.theres a 50 per cent chance everything could be ok. dont maked any rash choices yet you are still grieving for your husband and not in the best frame of mind for making such life changing decisions. talk to people around you,you are not alone!! you are going thrby tracey - Huntington's Disease Support Center
hi i totally understand where you are coming from.i'm 32 and have been diagnosed with phd for 11 months,am a mum of 3 kids also at risk,but have a supportive husband (thank god). going through same as you,you get paranoid and are constantly waiting for the symptoms,we are wasting the good bit of life we have!! we should enjoy the kids and make them have good memories of us,we are strong enough toby tracey - Huntington's Disease Support Center
