Maggie, I'm so glad to hear that you and Tony are enjoying watching old movies and that the fire department is supportive and that you are able to continue working. I have thought about you so many times and wondered how you were. Paulaby paulabhouck - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I am so sad to hear about Gordon's death. I saw it on facebook and came right here to see if you knew. I am so sorry for his loss and feel so bad for his daughter and grnadaughter. I had followed him on facebook and didn't relaize he was ill. By the way, has anybody heard anything about Maggie and Tony since I haven't seen anything posted by Maggie in a long time?by paulabhouck - Huntington's Disease Support Center

We used to go to an event called First Night, which was a musical venue held in many locations in NY, NJ, and probaby other states. One would buy a ticket and then walk from venue to venue and see a variety of performances. However, alt and I are 71 and 68 years old now and stopped going about 8 years ago when we decided it was too cold to walk aroundrtill midnight to do this. We did love it wheby paulabhouck - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I am so sorry that the medical personnel are NOT responding to your husband's needs. I hope that Adult Day care is an answer for you. We were very fortunate that my brother's HD physician facilitated placement in a nursing home for my brother when his behavior was a danger to my mother. My brother was about 45 years old at the time. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Paulaby paulabhouck - Huntington's Disease Support Center

A couple of ideas. I found the Church affiliated NH were more caring and careful than non-affiliated ones. My brother was in one afflited witht the Christian Reformed Church. They were very supportive and co-operative, while he was there. However, since he was a high maintainence patient , they decided to not take a futre HD patient. He was not agressive. He was just HD and had a lot of movemenby paulabhouck - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Welcome back. I'm glad you are here. NH placement is a difficult decision. With my brother, the transition from home care to NH was made when his outbursts were physically affecting my mother, who was his caregiver. His medical doctor, the HD physician in our area, had him hospitalized, for a change of medication, and he was transitioned from the hospital to a NH. He started in the NH as self- paby paulabhouck - Huntington's Disease Support Center
