Thank you. how many CAG repeats does he have? How long did he have HD symptoms when he started Sativex? Was he real bad with he started it? How dramatically better did he get? I have 41 CAG repeats. Thank youby cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I just received an informative letter from our PA state senator in Harrisburg. He informed the people that a possible law allowing Medical Marijuana (not smoking nor vaporizing) was defeated. He referred to a list that said that some claim that medical marijuana helps HD. Here is one article I found Just wondering if any good serious medical research has been done on the topic. Thanks.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I see that I was simply commenting on the very first article quoted The first developments in the field of stem cell research used leftover embryos created by the union of sperm and egg from in vitro fertilization. But embryonic stem cell research is controversial because to use the stem cells for developing medical treatments, the embryo is destroyed. Embryos have the potential to developby cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center

My feet and hands feel a little numb right now. Even a little tingling. I take Clonazepam. I've been depressed, but St. John Wort has been helping me with that.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I'm not talking about adult skin cells. I'm talking about a different article I read a while back saying they take the brain cells of an embryo. I agree with you about the Adult skin cells.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I never said that just the egg is fertilized. Correct. an egg is an egg; unferiltized. An embryo is fertilized.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Embryos are fertilized. I'm not talking political. I'm talking ethical and what God has shown us in the Bible. Thanks. Curtby cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
The Bible says we must speak the truth in love. I love you all. But they are still murdered babies. Discarded. The Bible speaks about how God weaves us together in the womb. God views the embryo as a person has He has created and is developing. Any attempt by us to redefine what God has clearly shown us, is wrong. He rejects it. I must also reject it. But it seems like now, we, the creatures areby cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I'm not preaching. This is the real world and Jesus Christ is a real Savior Who can hear our cries of help and transform a person who is an alcoholic.. My father was an alcoholic. Really, he was the town drunk. He beat us many times. That on top of HD, makes the situation very difficult. He had HD. If the alcoholic part can get out of the picture, the HD meds can be a help.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Yes, there are meds to help. He needs to turn to Christ Who will give him the power to turn from alcoholism.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Thank you, Marsha. That is good news. That is doable.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
If I received treatment with stem cells from a murdered baby, I would refuse the treatment.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I looked at the Disability site for our government and they say they can ask for these examinations.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I am with Samaritan Ministries. Same thing and with genetic issues, they don't cover if you have a genetic issue before 5 years. I was in my plan 5 yrs. and 2 months when my HD showed up. So just in time. I know of Medishare. It is a little more costly than Samaritan Ministries, but these plans of Christians helping each other work fine. Medishare covers a little more, I think. Give them a call.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I recently read this article from HDbuzz Cell replacement therapy In fact, this ‘cell replacement’ idea has a long history in HD. In the mid-1980’s, a series of animals studies showed that it was possible to fix brain damage caused by toxins, by transplanting embryonic brain cells into the damaged area. Subsequent work, in more sophisticated animal models, supported the idea that thisby cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I sure appreciate your help and advice. Thank you for helping me to better understand and to remind me that I need to be my own advocate. My wife is so sweet. She goes to every dr. appoint with me. I will ask her to also be alert to this kind of thing. I should have thought of that, that the doctor is going to interpret things along his line of thinking, experience, and viewpoint. Thanks again.by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center

More confusion was added to my situation. There is no doubht that I have HD, but the doctor said that my chorea is not HD chorea. So he is suspicious that I have other problems also (heart, etc.?)by cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Thank you. This is a super big help to me. I was just wondering because it was happening to me and did not know if food calmed the Chorea in other people. Sometimes when I eat cereal in the morning, my body starts needing food soon thereafter. I find that eggs calm my system. It would be interesting to know why food helps. Thank you. At this point in time, the doctor has me on med taking one in tby cwyoungh - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I was diagnosed with HD in November 2013. I was 62. My sister also has HD. It is very interesting that if I get real hungry, I start jerking and having huge chorea. Then I eat and my body calms down. Do any other people have this issue? Other symptoms I have are great weakness, irritability, depression and thinking slower. Sometimes my legs hurt so much.
