Hi Carla, When how is your son doing? You stated that you took him out of the Nursing Home? Will he be staying with you? Reason I ask, I have a husband with HD and I want him at home, hopefully with Home Care. Can you suggest anything that can help me? My funds are limited, however.by thorflower - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hang in there Brad. My husband has HD and his father "warned" me about their family HD. I stayed with him all these years, and married him (I've been with him since I was 17 years old and now I am 50 years old) and it truly sucks, but please don't let this rule your life. You have many, many good years ahead of you!!!! We had so many good years together - it was AMAZING! We traveby thorflower - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi, I live in Ohio and my husband was diagosed with HD in 2008. He is currently on disability and we are having a really rough time of it. I'm trying to get him on Medicaid (he does not qualify for Medicare) he is only 52 years old. I am currently unemployed. We pay out of pocket for incontinence supplies ($100.00 a month) and they don't even work. He gets up in the morning (alsby thorflower - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hello there, My husband also has HD (has been diagnosed for five years). The swallowing issue - he didn't have it before he went on those Meds, did he? If so, you would have known. There is a swallowing issue due to HD. My husband has a very mild case of this "swallowing" problem. He does have issues with pork, and other meats that I cut up for him - not "puree".by thorflower - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Please have the driver's license revoked ASAP. Anyone with HD CANNOT DRIVE! Even in the early stages. My husband was arrested (they - policeman) thought he was drunk. It was an ugly scene. HD positive people look like the are sometimes drunk, but they are not. I tried to help him and got arrested myself. We spent three days in jail (charges were dropped because we were able to proveby thorflower - Huntington's Disease Support Center

God bless you! I just read your blog and I can truly relate!!! My husband is 52 years old and hardly speaks at all due to his HD. His family and friends have given up on him. So sad...... Since they have found out he has HD and the way he is now (compared to what he was before) nobody seems to want to come around anymore because they "can't handle" how he is now. Hi, my husband has been diagnosed with HD (CAG - 45+). He just turned 52 years old. Speech patterns are really bad, but he does not have many "movements". You know what I mean..... We are currently in one of those "trail clinics" at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio.
