If Memphis, TN is closer for any of you, my wife sees Dr. Mark Ledoux at the University of TN(Wesley Neurolgy Clinic) in Memphis. He is very knowledgable and is great with my wife. We have been involved in numerous studies and I would recommend him to anyone.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I work for a federal agency and we have a federal compaign every year we enroll to contribute to various charities. I am trying to get as many people as I can to contribute to HDSA, but I was shown a statistic in our book that shows how much money goes to the cause and how much to overhead. Several operate below 1 %, which I know is hard, but according to the book, HDSA operates at over 30%. Thisby cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Hello everyone..I have been happily married to my beautiful wife for over 20 years. We are both in our early 40's. She tested positive June/12 with a repeat of 43. We have two wonderful daughters(18,15) and live in Mississippi. We have participated in a couple of trials so far and are praying everyday for a cure. God bless you all.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I am lucky that we could have open conversations about it together. It should be approached on those days when you say thing are going great. You should not push it on her. Both of you have to be prepared for a the results either way. We both felt she should be tested when it consumed her. Not because of symptoms, but when it was consuming her thoughts daily, affecting her quality of life. I knewby cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I am in pretty much the same situation you are. Except we have been diagnosed. There are some things you need to get in order before testing,, if possible. Feel free to PM me.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Wendy my wife is in the early stages and hers has begun primarily in her feet. When asked to sit still and not move her left foot has a constant twitch in which she curls her toes up. Also, a little movement in her hands and legs when watching television.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Yanta you are also welcome to PM me. My wife was diagnosed 1 yr ago and is in the early stages. I have been with her for 26 years(we are 43 and 42) and lived through the disease with her father, so nothing really catches me by surprise. You do need to have someone to talk to and most will not understand, but that one just to hear you will help. PMme if you want.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Peggy I believe each situation is different, but alike. If this is consuming you on a daily basis testing may be the right thing to do. You would need address things like insurance and long term care, before testing. It will be impossible with a positive result. My wife was tested last year with a positive result, but I think it was the right thing to do for us. My children are older 15 & 17by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Just got my wife approved for SSI. Took me about 6 months, but now that they have actually put it on the compassionate allowance may move faster. You have to be persistant. I had to go around the people we were assigned to. You just have to find someone who cares.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My wife is also in the study. Just half way in, but always praying.by cj - Huntington's Disease Support Center
