My grandfather started symptoms at 45 or so but it may have been sooner due to drinking. My dad was 36. Lets hope I am the rare exception. I am 30.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Awesome. glad you are coming. if you could just tell Brett T. to come it would help!!!!! send him a message for me on fb???? He has family in Minn. so it would be a double-whammy as far as a trip goes and he wants to meet you. He just went on a trip a few weeks ago and met Rob Cleveland. I think since he isn't the most Pro-HDSA person he isn't as interested. I said, forget that. . . it's the PEOPby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Matty, your great. I am so excited about the HDYO. I have not been on here in a looong time...but since then I have got to hang out with your silly butt in person and you are doing a great thing. Keep on truckin!!! Lauraby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
WOW. This, will probably be my last post. I am blown away. Add me to the offended list with Brett and Brent. Heres why: Being a caregiver sucks. I know this. We get it-- most of us PHD's either helped take care of our own family members or watched them go through hell, our parents go through hell taking care of them, etc. Call me selfish, call me biased, but a person with HD-- MAY haveby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Been away a while... only two pages into this thread which looks like it will end interesting...so I wanted to toss my two cents in BEFORE reading what's next...just for giggles... (By the way, Like this thread. Glad skmf asked -- no stupid questions especially with HD. When people don't ask questions they think are stupid I think sometimes they end up getting too worked up and freaked out. Iby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Snookie...thanks for askin' the question. I was curious to see the responses and then be ok to say my own. Being the PHD... I feel I have had more of a high libido...before I knew i had the gene even. This could be that my husband at the time had a low(er) libido... but I still think I had/have a higher...need. The current situation is that, of course, the HD has caused the marriage to gby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Did anyone see the Marker (the hd magazine that just came out)? It has an article about how HD may qualify for an expedited approval... I can't find it online...I may need to scan it....by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I think i have seen some clinical trials that will test u if you enroll. Not the idea option... but... still... BJ - I thought you were MN? Or is it school in TX? I'm confused. Hahahby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hello hello, I read the blog/post on the main page about the pre-symptoms of HD by Kelly B. (nice to see someone talking about it) I had to hunt down the article. Here is the article page (it's free you can read it in HTML or download some of the visuals...etc) Here is the PDF. Interesting, Sadly.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Thanks Steve and MrsPat!! I don't even know what the use/purpose will be when done (I am going to finish it on a mac) but... we'll see.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
He's doing good. To the normal person, he is appears like me today- tired (Me=allergies) but he is so much better than he was, I don't even know how to explain it. Luckily, here... Most know. cheerio!by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Yeah, I am pretty much getting to the point that short of bringing in a patient or waiting until I am sick enough myself I am not too sure much else would work. Good to remember for a younger person who has only voted a handful of times.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I call, write, email, fax... I think I may send this... Part of me is thinking they stop watching halfway through....by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
that's it. I heart Matty Ellison shirt is being made!! Brent...don't even start!!! haha, seriously-- the thing about this HD community is on a Sat night when I am figuring out what to do (if I am up to it) and I get bummed it's not convention time yet or my friends are all over the US. Matty will be easy to spot. He has a camel following him around.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hey Angel...what's your email in case I wanna add you on FB? Hee hee. I am going too, and I am already nervous about messing up people's names and stuff. When I went to DC I had a few people from here (Tim, Ruth) say "Hi Laura!" and I gave them a blank look. then...OHH! Went to see my dad the other day @ the nursing home, here's pics of him and me...so you know what my faceby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Oh Ohh! I have a favorite motivational video/speech. It is related to Cancer, but...I think it's good. I recently sent a small book of it and DVD to an HD friend...who seemed un-impressed. (haa haa) Being a "chick" and liking sports -- to watch but not really to be involved...no idea who this guy was til I caught this years ago on ESPN, (I woke up from a nap....saw it an cried)by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Your right Matty. Again. Hate that.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
The really crappy thing is one day this is huge news for me, then the other... I am having- or a friend is having a bad day (HD-wise)... and the reality of this...sucks. I go from hopeful to pessimistic, with an urgency to go to stuff. ekby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I think he means (and I share the concern) the non-clinical people. Will be overly hyped and hopeful when this may take years to come to be useful. Hopeful, yes, but .... hearing about it all weekend may be a bit much for us already suffering. You know?by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Didn't even think about that. Hopefully not because this year has had a lot of positive things and negative...like losses that still should be recognized just like last year. Last year, was my first-- and it was great. The stuff during the day you had options (So PHD's are not stuck in things about care giving) or-- skip the whole time block... but also they had booths for off time -- for infby LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
All things are hopeful...not so much for me I don't think but my son. If they push it off/cure it for him-- Happy as a pig in poo.by LauraLu1212 - Huntington's Disease Support Center
