Sorry its been so long. Some days are better than others. He is very time consuming lately. As for his time line. In 1999 his was in an accident..three operations later..He wasnt coping well. Very delayed. I thought it was the medicines from the operations. But when I look back about 10 yrs prior..He wasnt handling responsibilities very well. He put things off all the time in which I would steby muchgrace - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Lately my days are oh so long and depressing. My husband with hd 12yrs now is at a place I just dont understand. He only thinks of cigarettes, food and bed. I have a diaper on him now because he wouldnt tell me when he has to go. The toilet is such a taboo with him. He fights me over it. Lately he will tear his brief off hid it and continue to walk thru the house and let fecal matter come out theby muchgrace - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My husband and brother and sister inlaw have hd. My brother inlaw was at a gas station filling a gas can so he could mow the lawn. The attend didnt understand his chorea and called the police. They impounded his truck arrested him and it took over a yr of court dates to prove his hd story. Guilty until proven otherwise..That was in N.C. Using a thickener with liquids helps. You can purchase at most stores. Also cut foods up and stay away from salads or anything that tends to stick in the mouth. Going for a swallow evaluation can lead to alot of help.by muchgrace - Huntington's Disease Support Center
My husband has lost mental abilities..He still walks although with challenges. He has had it 12yrs. now. In public its up to each ones issues. For some reason this week has been very trying. Sometimes I would like to get on 95 and rip the rear view mirror off and never look back. For reasons not known to me my husband is becoming very selfish right now in his hd. No accoutability at all. If he doesnt get his way he just goes to bed or throws things around. Now if he poops in his pants he doesnt even try to help clean up where he use toby muchgrace - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I believe your doing the best you can. All we can do is support, encourage, listen and be there. I have to say I pray alot. In fact it has everything to do with my why my husband is still here. He went from being angry, desperate and despair to peaceful, hopeful and having a reason to be here.
