Also....I can't find my mini-profile on here anymore....by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi...it's been quite awhile since I've posted anything. So much has changed. It used to be very active and it seems quite a few of the regulars I used to see posts from aren't on here much. Kinda saddens me. So, my mother passed away in 2014 from complications related to HD. About a year later, my brother, whom I already knew had HD, got tested and found out he was indeed gene positive. Eric, My thoughts are with you, Teresa, and the boys. She is a lucky lady to have had you in her life and on her side. I am sending thoughts, prayers, wishes and strength to you all.by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Barb, I haven't been on in a while and just read of your loss. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart. I wish I could wrap my arms around you in a big hug right now. (((HUGS)))) Thinking of you...by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Oh Barb!! I haven't been checking in for a while and just read the news about your husband. I am so glad all is going well now. Please be sure to look after yourself as well, going thru extremely stressful and emotional events takes a toll on the average person, going thru all that while having HD on top of it all, no wonder you slept for a whole day!! Thinking of the both of you and wishingby Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
That's great, Luz!! I just want to say I think it is so great how the HD community is growing and really coming together. This is really going to open the door for others to be involved in trials and to connect us as a whole. Awesome!!by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Eric- Now THAT'S funny!!! That last part about tinky winkie the tele-tubbie...omg! What creepy little characters!! Good one, Eric! Sorry Brent. I wouldn't even know where to begin...church, maybe? I don't know...a bar is probably not a good place...(heehee!) Life is not over-keep on truckin'. Make some new friends. You don't have to have your HD status posted on your forehead, live life.by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Janine, You have come to the right place where others can relate and understand what you are going thru. I am 38 years old and at risk. My mom has HD and was placed in a NH almost a year ago. Research has come a long way and they are doing drug trials all the time. There is hope...try to stay positive and be proactive. You will learn a lot from this site.by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi Raven Stacy on here has had success with PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis). You can check out her website www.hdfreewithpgd.com, or you could also email her at stacybrook@aol.com. She is pHD with HD free twin girls. I'm sure she can tell you everything you want to know.by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Wow Dusty. What a life you have lived. Very intriging, yet so heartbreaking. You must be made of steel...by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
solvey7! You have come to a wonderful place, where everybody "gets" what's going on. HD sucks and we all deal with it in our own unique ways. It's a comfort to be able to ask questions and get feedback from others that have either "been there and done that" or to ask for advice, or maybe just bounce ideas off of each other on how to handle or deal with something. Hang in tby Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Like Indigo's response, my Mom was always hot when she was at home. My Dad said she would have the furnace turned up and have the sliding glass doors open. Sometimes the opposite. And always pissed off! Not sure, but I always thought since she wouldn't go to the doctors, maybe her blood pressure was high or ??? Since she's been at the nursing home and they have given her meds (not exactly sureby Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I just wanted to tell you, Kim, that you are right to take a little break for the holiday. Kids just want your time. Sometimes we get so caught up with LIFE and what gets thrown at us that we forget the little things. Sending you hugs! I think you are doing much better! Take care and have a great Christmas with your kids!!!!by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
That's AWESOME news, Linda!!! I am sooooo happy for you!! Like rj, I am also at risk, and I appreciate your insight also. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU & YOURS!!!!!!!! May it be the most joyous ever!!by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
lou, LOL!! Too funny! I think sometimes what jl (and others) is (are) saying just gets taken out of context. I myself have to watch how I word things so they don't sound sarcastic or perhaps condesending at times...I think she's just fiesty!! When someone is "ignorant", it simply means they just don't know any better, not that they are stupid. I am not taking sides, it just seeby Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center

You are a wonderful person and I feel the love for your Dad in your posts. Best of luck to you and take care of you, too. Enjoy the holidays with your family!!! Welcome!!by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Hi Ben!! Don't feel so alone, you have all of us to talk to who really "gets" what you are feeling and going through. We are like a big extended family here. Come here to talk about anything and everything. We are all here for you. I haven't tested yet, but I am 38 and at risk. Once you find the right meds and doses, you'll still need some time to adjust to the news of being gene pby Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Not true, Eric. What about the Rose Festival??by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Oh my, this post made me cry!!! It just made me think about my Dad and his devotion to my Mom. The stories are so similar! My Dad also had to enter my Mom into a nursing home in Feburary this year after close to 20 years of looking after her at home. It's really better for her (and him) because she would never go to the doctor to get medication and was in denial. She was a real handful the last 4by Deborah - Huntington's Disease Support Center
