Thanks Tim, I was awaiting your reply. I will be getting started on Monday! Wish me luck!! I also will be hammering Sen. Grassley, his offices are very near. Thanks Tim for your hard work, it has certainly given me the gumption to do all this..by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center
I'm doing great! The little one isn't so little anymore, she'll be two this summer. We're not quite 100% sure on a date yet but Kelly and I will finally be getting married this fall. I check up quite frequently, sure seems a lot of new things and new people making lots of huge pushes for the cause. Gotta love that!by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Dear Zachary, Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 678, the Huntington's Disease Parity Act of 2009. This is an important issue and I am glad you have shared your views with me. As you may know, the Huntington's Disease Parity Act of 2009 would call for the revision of the medical criteria used for evaluating disability in a person diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. Good post Christian. Being 25 myself and in a similar situation def. makes you wonder what is going on. We got a while yet Casey and to quash a phd program would sure make you look back at things later, im sure. I might go back to school, but not quite at that point in my life where that is going to work right now, eventually though. It has been quite a few years now where i've been able to woby Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center
If I remember correctly, I think I seen that you were from Bolivia. Your situation, I think, is a delicate one considering the fact that Bolivia is a lot different than the US or say Canada, for example. I had an old roomate who was from Bolivia and may have some information that could potentially help you out. I'll ask him if he does, regardless though.. I think he still has some friends/ famby Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Teressa, I'm not sure if there is one is Iowa or not, or at least that I know of. I know that the UofI gives out information about the HDtrials.org registry thing, but other than that not too sure. Are you from Iowa?by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center

I'm still here.. occasionally. I'm too stubborn and opinionated to continue daily-use of forums anymore. Besides if I ever have free time anymore, I'm usually trying to catch some Zzzzz's! Oh yeah.. I'm still at-risk also, dang it!by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Certainly this may not be the best advice but from my experience dealing with the psychiatric care facilities is that sometimes you have to "fib" a bit in order to get the proper care.. or in other words get the visit or stay extended to figure out what needs to be done. In a nutshell it bought me some time but trust me when I say that most facilities that I have delt with are trying tby Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center

If it were true: It's a good thing I don't like coffee, soda, or chocolate. It's also a good thing that my fiance isn't at risk for HD either... haha.by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Hey- just back from a hunting trip and never got to respond back. Eric said, "I have had to deal with my "cured" pHD before. Care to minimize my experience compared to an unproven treatment? Do you think that the balance ball and head gear or an oxygen tent would ever replace Risperdal for hallucinations?" Eric.. Whoever said this laser treatment stuff replaces risperdalby Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center

Anita, some here don't like alterantive therapy. PERIOD. Regardless if someone has benefited from it or not. So the best thing you can do is try it, the worst that could happen is that you would be out a little money and it didn't work. Or you could end up like AR. But then again who knows.by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center
Earlier this afternoon, I think somewhere around 2ish cst, I seen something about HD on TLC. I didn't catch very much but it had something to do with childbirth and HD or something like that... did anyone else see this?by Zach - Huntington's Disease Support Center
After reading all these medications and side effects, I personally think with my experience that a therapeutic massage would be more beneficial. A lot of therapists tend to give discounted rates to those you need it most, and also massage therapy schools tend to be 50% less cost then other therapists in the area- so it can be fairly inexpensive.
