Lesson learned: It ain't easy. Get help. [www.va.gov] is a good place to start. It is a listing of veterans state departments/agencies where a nearby VA certified veteran service officer (VSO) can be found. Key is VA certified VSO. Some veterans organizations: VFW, American Legion, DAV, say they VSOs – question their training and certification.

Lesson learned: Not all was wasted. VA now recognizes HD as a rate able condition. Key is to show complaint, treatment of or diagnosis of HD symptoms in medical records.
