What testing can be done.

I am a 37 year old male that has been tested, and does carry the Huntington's Gene. The question I have is concerning having children. My wife and I would like to have kids of our own, but the risks are far to great for my wife to deal with. And I don't blame her. So, we are looking into adoption. But, I would still like to have our own children. What are our options??

Hi Mark...I posted a question similiar to yours not too long ago and was given a website that I found to be informative. It discusses childbirth options one of which my husband and I were particularly interested in...that being PGD-Preinsemination Genetic Diagnosis (also called PGT). I had never heard of such a procedure until we were informed of it at our local Huntington's Disease chapter meeting. Here's the website I was given: [www.givf.com] Some of the information is old but there's a number and email address of which you could use to contact this clinic for some updated information on their procedures. Good luck!
