Hello my name is Marie Rasmussen. I'm curently writting a report in school about HD, more specificly about the herietry of HD. And so I would by very greatful, if somebody out there on the net, wounldn't mind sending me a family tree showing who in you family suffers from this disease. No names nessesary.

If anybody could help me with this I would be very thankful.

Marie: I'm happy to help you,but my family is very small.My mother & grandfather were both the only child.
My greatgrandfather:born 1868 in France My greatgrandmother:born 1871 in
Came to USA 1890 France.Came to USA 1890.
Died 1898 at age 30 of pneumonia Died 1945 at age 74 from
Probably had the HD gene complications after being hit by a car
Did not have HD

My mother's father,born 1891[only child] My mother's mother,born 1897
Died in 1964.Probably had HD with Definitely did not have HD
late onset.Was considered "nervous" Died at age 86

My mother,born 1922[only child]
had HD;diagnosed 1975
died 1987 after 8 yrs in nursing home

My mother's children:

Me born 1947 my children: daughter,born 1971
I have HD son,born 1976
diagnosed by genetic testing 1998
I retired on disability in 1999
I still live at home & drive

My brother,born 1950 No children
Does not have HD
Had genetic testing 1996 & it was negative for HD

My sister, born 1955 her children: son,born 1983
May have HD.Has chorea son, born 1986
& balance problems.
Had her blood drawn 2/20/2001 for genetic testing & is awaiting the results.

Marie: My spacing got wrecked on my greatgrandparents:

My greatgrandfather:born 1868 in France.Came to USA 1890.Died at age 30 in 1898 of pneumonia. Probably had the HD gene.Unknown if he had any siblings.

My greatgrandmother:born 1871 in France.Came to USA 1890.Did not have HD.
Died in 1945 from complications after being hit by a car.

Hi I'm studying HD as part of my science coursework and need a little help i have to find out the causes, symptoms, what it actually is and how it can be cured if it can be cured i have worked out pretty much everything i just need to know if and how it can be cured, i would be greatful if someone would help me by emailing me to let me know how HD can be cured. Thanks alot, Lauren xxx

Lauren, I am sure that HD can and will be cured. The researchers are working diligently, following multiple theories of the disease. This site is linked to all the current information about what has been found so far and where the research is headed.
