My husband has a friend at work who has tested positive for having the gene for HD. His mother, sister, and uncle all have HD. Will he for sure have it or is it possible for the HD to be dormit? I hope this makes sense.

Welcome to HDAC, Allyson. You and your husband are good friends to be concerned. Unfortunately, in the absence of the development of a cure for HD, your husband's friend will eventually develop symptoms since the HD gene is a dominant one.

Hopefully, he will have many more years of health ahead of him though. And it is possible too that there will be a range of treatments available in the next few years that will amount to a cure for this disease.
