Tounge

Wondering if anyone has had this problem. My husbands tounge is sore on the tip as he moves it around his mouth when focusing on doing taskes, reading, anythng really. He bits the inside of his mouth as well and gets sores but the tounge is more bothersome to him than the sores. He gargles for the pain but can't keep his tounge still. He has tried chewing gum which helps a bit when he is hiking but is dangerous at night while he sleeps.
Any advice would be appreciated.

What about a mouth guard at night?

Thanks Patty I hadn't thought about that I will ask his dentist to make one for him at our next appointment.
Have a great weekend

I used to have a mouth guard for TMJ. It can be configured to snap on to the top or bottom teeth so that it will not dislodge while asleep.
